Personally, I love any excuse to dress up and when I decided to go visit Fort Langley on a Sunday afternoon, I may or may not have put a little more effort into my appearance. For those of you that don’t know, Fort Langley is quite possibly one of the best towns in British Columbia. It has the cutest shops, a thriving arts community, and the most delectable eateries.
I decided to throw on one of my most favourite dresses ON EARTH for the day. This dress is honestly the best thing I have ever owned and for good reason. I got it a few years ago from Gap but I have found that from year to year they seem to have similar style dresses in the same fabric. The fabric is what I really love because it holds its’ shape so well and accentuates my hourglass figure. Plus it has stripes which make up a large majority of my wardrobe.
The Fort Gallery is a small artists’ collective nestled into the center of Fort Langley and is a must-stop-and-see for any visit there. The building itself is over 100 years old and has great character. I was lucky enough to work at this gallery for a year and it was an amazing experience. The artists are all wonderful people with incredible talent. I checked out their annual “Small Wonders” show which features small works for sale which make perfect Christmas gifts. If you find yourself in Fort Langley, make sure you check this place out!
The Little White House Co. is another must-see in Fort Langley. They host curated items locally and from abroad. It’s every girl’s dream shop basically. I obviously have a thing for historical buildings because this one is a favourite. I heard a wonderfully spooky tale about how this place is haunted by a Lady In White through one of the Grave Tales tours with the Fort at Fort Langley a few years ago. If you want to hear the full tale, check out The Little White House Co.’s Instagram for their piece by piece telling of her story. I was hoping she would join me in my mirror selfie but alas she did not make an appearance.
My final stop was Ritual Ice Cream where I sampled their hot chocolate and it was perfection. I had heard such good things about this place so my the bar was set high and they passed with flying colours. The atmosphere was warm (literally, there was a fireplace) and inviting. The best place to relax with some friends or do some homework. I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can taste from their ice cream selection!
It was a lovely day exploring!
